On February 11, 2012, the newest La Colombe cafe opens in Seoul, Korea, a partnership with our collaborative shareholders. Although all of us live in Philadelphia, we feel inspired by coffee culture in Seoul, and want to be there and explore firsthand this lively world of masterful baristas and passionate consumers.

Blending into the bustling and culturally diverse southern district of Apgujung, La Colombe/Seoul follows the design of our Dilworth Plaza café in Philadelphia: sleek and airy with sweeping bamboo and serpentinite (also known as “rainforest marble”) coffee bar and small tables with burled wood tops, finished to look like river stone.

In addition to introducing one of America’s premier artisan coffee roasters to Seoul, La Colombe Korea will offer home-made pastries and hand-crafted sandwiches to its patrons in the local style, and that’s all day.
