Microfoam: (n.) the holy grail of latte art.

When steaming milk for a latte, microfoam is our goal. Aerating milk while it’s cool produces tiny air bubbles that give the milk a smooth but full texture. Great microfoam doesn’t look like foam at all. It looks almost exactly wet paint, velvety, shiny and thick, and it’s the perfect medium for creating latte art.

Use it in a sentence: “My latte had the most excellent microfoam on it this morning.”
