While he was preparing to compete in the 2014 U.S. Brewer’s Cup, Todd realized that he wanted to do something big, something different that had never been seen in competition. One day he walked into the Workshop and started drawing on the chalkboard, talking fast about siphons, water chambers, and more. Attempting to obtain maximum control over all aspects of brewing, he had started to go down the coffee rabbit hole.

After a few weeks tossing ideas around, Todd had a sketch ready to show a glass worker. He came to Chris Bock, a technical glass specialist in New Jersey, who created (by hand) the first prototypes of the Dragon, as well as the final version.
