The Bean Belt: (n.) the nickname for the area where coffee grows.

Coffee plants are fickle things. They’re only able to grow in certain environmental conditions, and the certain conditions they like are only found between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. That means the middle  of the globe has a delicious coffee fruit belt around it, with coffee growing happily in diverse places like Mexico, Ethiopia, Yemen, Vietnam. Coffee likes moderate sunshine and ample moisture, conditions found in mountainous regions – hence many high-quality coffees being grown at higher altitudes.

  1. To the blogger, Christine and the coffee beans (great name, by the way). I want to learn about Word Press and Gravatar (s). I could not find your actual blog or is it just your name and symbol.

  2. Procaffeinating…has me laughing, because my mother gets off the phone with me at 5am, saying she needs her first cup of coffee. Love that new word. We can do things without coffee, but why would we? You made me smile and laugh. It is just another way coffee helps you handle the stress of the day. Have a good one.
