Cold brew season is starting and we all have that one friend who is ALLLLLL about it. Some things you might hear from cold brew lovers this summer:
- “I don’t like to burn my tongue.” Hard to argue with that.
- “Dude, it’s healthier for you.” Actually, it might be! Toddy, the maker of the famed cold brewer, did a study revealing that cold-brewed coffee was 67% less acidic than hot-brewed coffee. If you avoid coffee because of heartburn or a sensitive stomach, cold brew might be right up your alley.
- “It’s so easy to make.” It really is though. And because it’s a slow brewing process, cold brew recipes are forgiving so you don’t have to be so precise in your measurements. Let 2 and 1/3 cups of coarsely ground coffee steep in 6 cups of room temperature water for 12 hours. Filter, refrigerate, and enjoy!
