Coffee means a lot to me. But if I take a step back and look at it from a wider lens, I’d say more than anything – coffee embodies my strength as a woman.
I started at La Colombe as a coffee roaster and my work depended on my ability to be able to lift a lot of coffee. I learned to pair my arduous work days (alongside my fellow Workshop roasters) with an intense strength training workout in the evening. As the months went on, I watched my strength increase and my job become less of a “job” and more of a time to enjoy being around the coffee and learning each ones story. I even worked up the strength to run a half marathon.
I drink coffee to get me going, keep me motivated, but most importantly to remind myself that if I see something in front of me and I’m willing to work for it every single day, I will be unstoppable….it may just take a cup of coffee or two.
