Colombian Sweetness & The Inga Tribe

Colombia is known for producing some of the highest quality coffee in the world. Our newest coffee, Colombia Inga Red Honey, is naturally sweeter than most other coffees we’ve come across.

Grown in the remote highlands of Narino, near the border of Ecuador, the coffee is dried in the pulp of its cherry turning the surface of the bean red. This Red Honey process gives the coffee a fruity sweetness tempered with vibrant acidity.

The Inga community of farmers who harvest and produce this coffee are descendants of the ancient Incas. They remained isolated in the high altitude region of the Andes mountains for hundreds of years, until the latter half of the 19th century. Sadly, the contact was primarily through drug trade and farming such as poppy and heroin production.

Recently, the area has become a safe zone for the tribe, which now thrives on growing and cultivating coffee for roasters all over the world.
