Today is the kick-off to the U.S. Coffee Championships’ Big Central regional competition, which will be held from November 7 – 9 at Uppercut Gym (1324 Quincy St. NE) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The event will feature talented baristas and coffee professionals from the Midwest. There will be 46 Barista competitors and 32 Brewers Cup competitors battling it out to advance to the national competition that will take place from February 19 – 22, 2015 in Long Beach, California. Competitors have been training for months refining their techniques and speeches and carefully selecting their coffees, brewing devices and music selection. La Colombe’s Chicago roaster, James Gibbs, will be representing us in the Brewers Cup (Compulsory Routine Friday, November 7 at 12:56PM CST) and Barista (Service Routine on Sunday, November 9 at 12:23PM CST) competitions.
