On October 5th, we hosted our sixth installment of the Hope & Fury concert series—focused on honest conversations about gun safety in this country.

The night kicked off with a lively discussion about gun safety, hosted by Todd Carmichael. Panel guests included singer-songwriter, Lauren Hart, Executive Director of Ceasefire PA, Shira Goodman, and Interim Supervisor of Victim Services at the Philadelphia DA’s Office, Movita Johnson-Harrell.

After the incredibly powerful and moving panel, spoken word artist Blake Melvin took to the stage with a poem about his experience with gun violence. Finally, the Lauren Hart Band followed with songs from her upcoming 7th Album, American Women.

The band rocked out for the rest of night, with Lauren’s vocals passionately echoing throughout the cafe. The Carlsberg and Yards beers were flowing and the 500+ person crowd was grooving to the passionate performance on stage.

Stay tuned for our next Hope & Fury concert series, taking place on Nov. 2nd, focusing on voting in the midterm election.
