La Colombe was invited as a delegate to go to Haiti alongside President Clinton as a part of the Clinton Foundation’s Agricultural Investment Trip. The Clinton Foundation has been actively engaged in Haiti’s development since 2009. Last week, they announced a donation of over $700,000 ($150,000 of which will be provided to La Colombe and the Leslois Shaw Foundation). Their donations will aid in the development of the coffee academy and ultimately improve Haiti’s agricultural capabilities for coffee growing as well as the quantity and quality of its coffee yields. With their support, the academy grows closer to its goals of improving the lives of thousands of Haitian residents and the country’s economy.
